Bobby Silverman grew up in Long Island, New York, in the shadow of the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant which was closed due to protests over safety and cost overruns soon after it began operation in the 1970s. In light of the fallout from the damage to Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant, Silverman designed a collection of vases to suggest, perhaps, a more benign interpretation of the iconic form of a nuclear cooling tower. 9″H,Porcelain
